Saba Keramati is the operations coordinator at Prism. Prior to joining Prism, she was involved in organizations which focused on reproductive and racial justice.
Saba calls the Bay Area home, and recently received her MFA from UC Davis, where she was a creative writing instructor. During her time there, she received the Elliot Gilbert Prize for Poetry & Short Story, and was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Celeste Turner Wright Prize sponsored by the Academy of American Poets. Her work has been published in literary magazines, set to music and performed by composers and opera singers, and is being anthologized in two forthcoming collections.
Saba's creative work focuses on racial hybridity and uses the personal as political to explore racial and language consciousness. She has served as a juror for the Scholastic National Art and Writing Awards, and has been a panelist for the Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers and National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum. She currently serves as a reader for Frontier Poetry.
